COMMUNITIES CALL FOR AN END TO HOMICIDE AND VIOLENCE IN THE WOODLAND
TERRACE AND CONDON TERRACE COMMINUTES IN SE WASHINGTON , DC,
William (Big Bill) McDuffee was the latest of a series of a homicides
taking place in these communities. He was shot on Saturday, August 6,
and passed on the morning of August 10. Candle Light Vigil calling for
an end to the senseless violence that is taking the lives of innocent
victims.
WHO: Calvin Woodland Foundation, ROOT Inc., family members, and members
of Condon Terrace and Woodland Terrace communities
WHAT: Candle Light Vigil remembering William (Big Bill) McDuffee and to
call for an end to senseless violence taking place between two the communities
WHEN: Saturday, August 13, 2005 - 8:00 PM
WHERE: 2921 Knox Place, S.E., Washington, DC 20032
WHY: Reliable sources have stated that there have been at least 17
homicides between these two communities, Woodland Terrace and Condon
Terrace, in the last 2 ½ years.
The Calvin Woodland Foundation and ROOT, Inc. as well as families from
both communities are calling for a halt to the senseless violence
taking place between the two communities. Calvin Woodland Jr. and Kenny
Barnes, Sr., founders of CW Foundation and ROOT Inc., will mediate the
differences between leaders of rival communities.
